DEATH TO TENURE

Those of you who read my commentaries know that I have previously expressed my strong contention that tenure in our educational system is abused and should be terminated as soon as possible. With that provocative statement, please take a minute to read an article penned by Mike Adams that recently was posted on Townhall.com.

If that story does not make a strong case for the elimination of tenure, nothing will. The abuse of tenure by teachers and their unions across the country is another one of the reasons our educational and financial houses are in disorder. Teachers should be properly compensated, but there is no legitimate reason to have rules that prevent the leadership of educational institutions from terminating dysfunctional and/or dangerous teaching influences.
