OBAMA vs. SOUTH CAROLINA'S BOEING PLANT

The Obama administration’s National Labor Relations Board has taken action to block Boeing Aircraft’s production of its new 787 Dreamliner in a new multi-billion dollar North Charleston, South Carolina facility. If you missed the story it is well addressed in a Wall Street Journal article penned by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

This is purely a power play by the Obama administration to pay-off its Union pals for their massive financial support, and it flies in the face of South Carolina law as a “right-to-work” State. Obviously these are hard times for the entire union movement in this country, but in my opinion they have nobody to blame but themselves, because they have demanded unsustainable contracts supported by conspiring politicians in many states.

Personally, I support the right to form unions, but I am also an ardent promoter of individual States rights to have “right-to-work” legislation. The long abused misappropriation of union dues to buy political influence has caused our country, and many union members, long-term financial harm.

It must be noted that Boeing’s decision to open a new plant in North Charleston has not resulted in the loss of one union or white collar job at its Seattle, Washington operation. Should Boeing not be permitted to open the proposed South Carolina plant, I suspect it will have no alternative but to move the plant overseas. One must wonder what is more important – for our President to assuage his union supporters or to create new high-paying jobs that benefit the entire American economy.

Boeing and any other American company should have the right to conduct its business in any State in the Union that it selects without the interference of the federal government or special interest pay-offs. Now Obama is telling American business just where it can and cannot conduct their commerce. What is Obama’s next arrogant political action against the people of THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE going to be? It is becoming clearer everyday that the Emperor has no shame.
