I know that I keep harping back to the words of our Founding Fathers time and time again, but without a doubt their words have proven to have lasting significance and value to our successful democracy.
Thomas Jefferson was truly a legendary figure within his own time, and we will benefit if we remember just this one utterance:
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labours of the people under the pretence of taking care of them.”
When will we voters learn, then do something about our government’s actions?
