CAMELOT LIVES ON IN NEW KENNEDY BOOK

The fawning New York Times has featured a promotion laden article relative to the soon to be released book “Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy” by publisher Hyperion. Below is a link to the article:

This six page spin piece by Janny Scott will no doubt lead to best selling status for the book, but frankly the article has disclosed so many juicy details that some may elect to just read this article and save their money. While your Commander was never a huge fan of the Kennedy clan, because of its close ties to the corrupt Chicago political machine, there is clearly an effort here to reinvigorate the Kennedy mystique.

I seriously doubt that President Jack Kennedy did little more than keep his young wife’s every wish well satisfied within the storm of his whirlwind political dynasty. His well-known scandalous conduct behind the scenes is not addressed here, and how could Jack’s notorious conduct not be mentioned is a question that jumps off the pages of the article.

I will not be surprised to learn that one of the liberal television networks will create a documentary to be featured in prime-time with some noted praising historian anchoring the program. Depending upon the details of the contract with the Publisher someone is going to make one hell of a lot of money from this book deal.

Surely by this time you know that I do not plan to buy the book and will wait and see if a television program is made, then decide whether or not I want to watch it.
