That is the title of a most informative and reflective article by Peggy Noonan in the Wall Street Journal. If you are as confused as your Commander about America’s intervention in Libya then this article is an important read.
Noonan raises many important questions, and calls for Obama to address the nation. Obviously the White House reads the Wall Street Journal daily, because they have finally announced that the President will address the nation in “the near future.” I suggest that he should have spoken to us earlier, but it certainly will be interesting to see how Obama spins this latest adventure to solve another of our vital national interests.
If you have not read the article here is a link for your use:

It is my opinion that Obama’s action is completely different from the view of a majority of the electorate and both Halls of Congress. I wonder if President Obama will address his assurance that we would not have American boots on the ground when it is now well known that American Special Operations personnel have been on Libyan soil painting targets with laser beams in support of the “No Fly Zone” air strikes. No matter how small the number of personnel involved they represent American boots on the ground in Libya.
So far it is estimated that America alone has spent well over one billion dollars on this latest venture of being the Policeman of the World and the cost continues to escalate daily. Your Commander firmly believes we should not be involved in this adventure, and I am shocked that the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize would promote and lead such an ill-advised mission.
