Can you imagine that the City of Chicago and Cook County have thus far spent $41.6 million in conjunction with former Chicago Police Commander John Burge’s trial and settlements, and they continue to pay his challenged pension of $30,000 per year? While Burge is finally going to jail, further litigation is anticipated and this is not the end of additional expenditures of taxpayer funds for this felon.
Only in Chicago can this insanity continue without anyone putting a stop to this entire situation.
